FAQ
- Q. Do I have to register to use the forums?A. You can enter as a guest and read posts, but you must register before you can post or answer a post that's already there. Registering is quick, simple, and free. Please join us.
- Q. Are there any types of posts that are prohibited here?A. We will delete any spam or commercial posts. Please do not post to sell something or involve anyone in a money-making proposition. Flames or rude / insensitive remarks will be removed. Users who are disruptive may be gagged at the Guide's discretion.
- Q. May I promote my product or Web site here?A. As with most places on the Internet, you may make your URL part of your "signature" by typing it under your name at the end of your posts, but please do not place commercial posts on the forum. They will be considered spam and be deleted.
- Q. Why didn't anyone answer my question?A. If you have a question to ask, please make it narrow enough to answer without significant research and writing. You'll be more likely to get help if you ask "Do I have this right -- women of the 1600s in Europe married young and didn't choose their own husbands?" than if you ask "Please tell me everything about life for women in the 1600s."
- Q. Why didn't someone answer my question here -- why did someone post a link instead?A. This forum is part of the larger About.com Women's History site. If the answer is there, posting a link to the material is more appropriate than a long answer that repeats the information.
- Q. Will you do my homework for me?A. No. But if you ask with some time to spare, respectfully and giving an indication that you've already done some thinking on the topic, you will likely find that others will help out.
